Different Bed Sizes
King Size Beds: King beds are the largest and most luxurious option available in most hotels. These beds typically measure 76 inches wide and 80 inches long, providing ample space for couples or those who simply love to stretch out.
Queen Size Beds: Queen beds are the next most common option and are a bit smaller than king beds. They measure 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. They’re perfect for couples who want a comfortable night’s sleep without the extra space of a king bed.
Double Beds: Double beds, also known as full-size beds, are 54 inches wide and 75 inches long. These beds can comfortably sleep one person but might be a bit tight for two, especially if they’re used to a larger bed.
Twin Beds: Twin beds are the smallest standard hotel bed size, measuring 38 inches wide and 75 inches long. These beds are often found in rooms designed for solo travelers or in rooms meant for children.
California King Beds: While less c ommon than regular king beds, California king beds are longer, measuring 72 inches wide and 84 inches long. These beds are an excellent choice for taller individuals who need the extra legroom.
To make it easy to find the perfect room, most hotel room types center around the beds. The two most common types of hotel rooms are:
Standard Room: In a standard room, you'll have either two fulls, two queens or one king. Standard rooms have a bathroom and perhaps some other simple furniture, like a desk, a chair, a dresser, and a TV. Aside from the bathroom, everything is in one room.
Suites: You'll have much more square footage in a suite. The space is divided into different rooms, similarly to a small one-bedroom apartment. There will be a lounge area with a couch and TV, possibly a kitchen and other living spaces. It will also commonly include a separate bedroom and bathroom in another room.
